Biskup diecezji Meath urodzony 1940, święcenia kapłańskie przyjął w 1963 r. Konsekrowany na biskupa 29 stycznia 1984 r., a 16 maja 1990 r. zostaje mianowany biskupem Diecezji Meath.
I am delighted at this opportunity to share a few words with the many from Poland who have fund a Home here In our Diocese, be it temporary Or more permanent. I especially wish to welcome Fr. Janusz and to express my thanks and appreciation for his pastoral work in the different areas of the Diocese. I see his presence as a very important element in the mission of the Church. Over the past two hundred years many Irish priests followed the very many – millions – who emigrated from Ireland to all parts of the world but especially to America, Great Britain and Australia. The presence of a number of Polish priests in Ireland echoes this experience of the Irish Church.
It would be good if in each of the centres a small group or committee of Polish people could be established. This group would obviously liaise with Fr. Janusz and also provide support for any of your people who might be experiencing difficulty. This is important at this time of the economic downturn and the rapid contraction of the construction industry in whitch so many found employment. This group could also become a link between the Polish community in the different areas and the local parishes. May I wish all of you who read this a very peaceful and joyful Christmas season, a celebration that seeks to draw us into the very heart of faith in Jesus Christ, the supreme manifestation of God’s love for each and every one of us.
